i will probably ask this question a few times over next couple of months but i thought you guys could help
going tenerife (south side) for first time in august for 2 weeks and wondered if anyone had any tips ie is car needed/costs of eating out/places to visit
thanks in advance
Morning all. Just catching up (only 150 pages to go!) and saw this.
It depends where you are and what you want to do, but I'd recommend a car to get the most out of your stay, they're not expensive and you can get to the big supermarkets and Lidl which will save you money. Whereabouts are you staying?
Eating out is cheap and drinks are poured with a generous hand. The Aberdeen Angus at Golf del Sur would do you a lovely 3 course meal last year including fillet steak for E8.95 and the staff are nice (but I wouldn't recommend the one in PdlA necessarily). They also do very cheap breakfasts.
During the day Playa de las Americas is a nice place to visit, with nice shops, fountains and a beautiful boardwalk along the front. (Not so nice at 3 in the morning, but where is?) Park under the Safari shopping centre, your car will be cool when you return and you pay by the minute so no annoying just going over the hour. Walk along the front in the direction of Los Cristianos (ie turn left) and have lunch at one of the cafes overlooking the beach, very pleasant.
Los Gigantes is a pretty little town to have a wander round and go for lunch.
Depends what your budget is, but our young people have both enjoyed going off to Siam Park and Loro Park, could be a bit pricey with a larger group though. Having said that, having seen their video of the Loro Park displays I fancy going myself, if you make a day of it and plan what you are seeing you can have a really good day out so not such bad value for money.
If it gets too hot you can drive inland up into the pine forests and have a picnic at one of the picnic sites or use the public barbecues there - leaflets from any tourist information will inform. When you get to the airport people will be handing out free maps - take them, they are useful.
It's also interesting to go to the north to see the difference in climate on the 2 sides of the island, and driving up the volcano was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be - just get a hire car with a bit of oomph for those hills!
If I can help further, just pm me. :-) (Sorry no smilies today).
ETA I see you're at CLC Paradise Park, so a bit inland - a car would probably be to your advantage?
We discovered the Del Duque beach on the last day of our stay last year and loved it. Most of the swankiest hotels on the island look onto it, there is a beautiful walk along the front and the beach was lively and interesting without being hectic or off putting. Some pretty cafes where you could have a drink and watch the bel monde go by!Hope is not a strategy.0 -
I went to sada today and the blue head and shoulders was ona separate section to the 3 for £10
So when I asked the trout in the isle with the scanner is theH and S in the three for ten deals she scannedit and said no:mad:
So if I buy it with 2 x JF will it still work if it’s the right bar code?
Had to go out of town as my sada does not stock blue H and S
