If you had listened to advice here, you wouldn't have had to pay a Claims Company anything at all and you'd also have the £1414 fee they charged you initially!:pstevepb101 wrote: »If i had listened to the advice i would now be around £1,650 worse off
By the way, you hardly won in court if the CMC withdrew the case!
Regardless, well done on your good fortune...0 -
They withdrew the case as they didn't have a signed contract by me stating that i would pay them any further monies received,as i mentioned in my previous posts.Moneyineptitude wrote: »If you had listened to advice here, you wouldn't have had to pay a Claims Company anything at all and you'd also have the £1414 fee they charged you initially!:p

The thing is,they phoned me just 2 days before the hearing asking how much was i prepared to offer them to settle!
If i,and maybe lots of other people in this position also, had offered them say £800 or £1000,they would have taken that by calling my bluff and trying to threaten and harass people which is in my mind more satisfying than the money.
I stuck to my guns, took it all the way and won,i am so glad because the company in question are horrible, bullies, and basically a nightmare!0 -
There will be very few people who receive an additional redress payment 13 months after making a successful complaint.stevepb101 wrote: »If i,and maybe lots of other people in this position also, had offered them say £800 or £1000,they would have taken that by calling my bluff
In addition, most CMCs have "watertight" contracts which include a clause allowing them to charge for any subsequent redress awarded. If your original contract didn't have such a clause, then I agree you were correct in your actions.0 -
Yes,luckily they didn'tMoneyineptitude wrote: »There will be very few people who receive an additional redress payment 13 months after making a successful complaint.

The company in question haven't got a clue,no idea of the law,no communication whatsoever and they just harass, bully and threaten people and as i said before they would have received money under false pretences if i had given in under the threat of court action and paid them a fee!
I have just received a call half an hour ago from them asking about my 'overdue account',
