  • For PMT bloating - fluid retention - quite the best supplement I've ever taken to treat fluid retention is vitamin B6 100mg daily. Ok it with your doctor first to be safe.
Persevere and you'll get amazing results within about 4-6 weeks. I discovered it when I was expereincing acute and painful PMT fluid retention up to about 2 and a half weeks before my cycle, because of the pill and some hormone treatment I was taking to clear my acne. I was miserable with it, and it took it away completely!
1300mg x 1 per day Evening Primrose oil is also excellent for fluid and acne, and can prevent harmless breast lumps forming, apparantly. Again, 6 weeksish to see a change, but well worth the wait.
I buy both at Holland & Barrett because of the offers. Vit B6 is quite cheap. Wait until they go on promotion though for a real bargain.
    Hope this helps. X
  • I already take evening primrose oil. I also take multi vits/minerals. Not sure if it'll be ok to take extra vit B6.
  • Hi

Go down to your local asian/indian supermarket and get some fennel seeds (will be called SAUNF in packets made by East End and the like) The Saunf packets are made in either natural saunf or mixed with sugar coated fennel seeds and things like that. You can either buy a big pack and empty into a container and eat after every meal OR you can buy the little multi packs and have them handy in handbags etc etc.

I find that this is a really good remedy

Whereabouts do you live? There should be at least one indian supermarket/grocery shop near you

    Hope that helps!
  • I actually live about half an hours drive from an Indian supermarket :o , however, I will take your advice and try fennel seeds.

Beware of fennel I recommend you look up the contra indications and interactions first like any other herbal remedy. Also see your GP to check any underlying reasons for it.
