    HI

My husband is a shift worker and one cat we had did shifts like him, for example if he was up a 2am for 5 days she would too and then go out when he went to work. It worked well until he had a rest day or changed to afternoon shifts the next week.

We have different cats now and tend to shut all the bedroom doors and let them have the kitchen, dining room and hallway. We've all laminate floors so they can't scratch at the carpet.

We also have an micro chip cat flap so the youngest (4) can come and go as he pleases and that has settled our night time problems with him waking us up all the time.

You've just got to be firm and stick to your guns and they will eventually get the message.

If I get up early for the loo, straight away I can hear one of them moving around thinking its breakfast time but unless it is, I ignore them and go back to bed.

    Good luck
