Monarch/Cosmos Holidays change of flight time

I paid a deposit for a holiday. Since then the outbound flight time has changed from 15:25 to 06:40, which makes it extremely inconvenient. Also the provider has not notified me of this change, I found it out by revisiting the website.

Does anyone know what the chances are of the operator refunding the deposit or allowing it to be put against a different departure instead? They do talk about 'significant changes' in their T&Cs but don't specifically mention significant changes in departure time except where it changes between a day and night flight or the date changes.

(I have contacted them and I'm awaiting an outcome from them.)

Has the flight number changed or is it still exactly the same?

No but they use the same flight number for all outbound flights whatever day and time they are. (There isn't more than 1 per day.)

The usual rule is 12 hours from the original time to the new time, this isn't 12 hours but has the return time changed significantly as well? if not, I think you are stuck with it, but if the overall change is more than 12 hours, you might have a chance. Personally I would prefer an early morning departure as it gives more time in resort but if you live a long way from the airport I can understand your concerns.

A 'significant change' is typically classed by a tour operator as being +/- 12 hours.
