do what we did and put your own camera up..

Our neighbour has a 12 yr girl same age as my dd, she kept throwing things over the fence including glass etc, we kept politly telling the neighbour but nothing happened, the kids used to be friends untill the kid next door started causing trouble. They blamed my daughter for most of it and one weekend put one of those cheap looking cctv cameras up on there wall looking straight into my garden covering the said fence but also covering my daughter on her trampoline, we could see this on there telly upstairs as they thought it was funny showing us..

We went out and bought a camera put it up and low and behold they didnt like it.. they moved there camera when i commented on whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

Our camera has a mike on it but we only use it if the kid next door starts to mis behave to let her know we can see her, has worked as we have had no more trouble
Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.

from the original post, you must think your neighbour may be a pervert or something.

Ever thought of just asking if they could point the camera over a bit......sounds simple to me.

I think it would be better to talk to the neighbour before involving the police, otherwise it could just inflame the situation.

The camera was up for one day and has now been taken down? Not sure what's going on.

And as for the pervert thing, he does stare at the area between my neck and navel and comes across as quite odd. You never know who you are living by!

I just had a call from police who were investigating my neighbours camera.
The legal standing is that he can film/photograph anything he likes from his property and as long as he shows no-one else he isn't breaking the law!!!!!
    Alarm bells ringing!!
His camera has 100% view of my garden and every bedroom window. I have kids! We intend shining a laser beam at his camera. Anyone out there any other ideas?

The only thing I can think of is to put up high fencing and barriers of some sort so that the camera view is obscured.

we were advised by the police to put our camera up because we'd had constant damage to our windows and car over a period of time so bad that they told us to sit in the back leave all lights off in front and the problem would go away!! i am glad we have our camera now but i cant see how you can tell they are watching you in particular,we can point ours and a tiny touch can make a whole new picture yet it would look like it is in the same direction(what i mean is even though you may think it is watching you your house might not actually be in the picture even though the camera looks like it is at you ) hope this helps!

Depending where the camera is - maybe a mirror reflecting back. Though I like the idea of the laser - but it'd have to be a powerful enough light to stop any images being taken. Is the cameron on your boundary fence or some way into the neighbours garden. And have you asked what it's for?

Technically I think that they might say he's allowed to put up anything but I think there are laws about electronic survailance of your property.

Maybe setting up a few dummy cameras might put him off as well.

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!
