So called Free dating sites

I'm fed up with so many dating sites saying that they are free when all that you can do for free is register, set up a profile and browse existingf profiles. Its when you actually try to make a contact you get a price list popping up saying you must be a premium member
There is never any indication of how much it actually will cost until you try to reply to a message or just send one.
It's only then that you discover that its not free at all

Airlines have been under fire for not being truthful about the actual cost of a flight when taxes and charges are added on so why not dating sites

I've wasted too much time setting up a profile and uploading photos and then discovering that there was a price to pay. They don't all make it easy to unregister either. Therefore I now stay clear of them

I understand they need to make money. It's just the way they go about it. Not being upfront about the cost
