Are you joking? It costs each invitee the price of a stamp to reply but in my case it'd be the price of a stamp x 90 to send out SAE for response! I know it's my wedding but that's the least of the costs for them but quite a lot to add to the (potentially low) budget of a wedding.

I've circumvented that by having RSVPs to our wedding website as they'll have to chose their meals etc. and it helps to find hotels and lifts for those who need it. Irrespective, people aren't replying either way!

No one cares as much about your wedding as you do - I'm not expecting it to be top of the invitee's to-do list so I'll need to get the cattle prod out towards the end of next month if they expect food. People who haven't RSVPed include groomsmen, bridesmaids, very close family members....

I wasn't joking actually. Since it is our wedding and we wanted to make the whole thing as easy as possible for us and well as our guests, we included RSVP's/SAE's for all 90 guests (around 60 due to couples).

In my opinion its a bit rude to expect your guests to pay out for a stamp and envelope to return an RSVP and also gives you more work to do when people haven't gotten round to finding said stamp and envelope - However in the OP it seems like they haven't even included an RSVP, just expect guests to write it down on paper and then return it to them by post.

Anyways as you've said, you are using an RSVP website so no problems there :)

Oh well each to their own - TBH I think when people don't reply straight away it's more often to other things on their mind anyway!

Good luck to you - hope yours are more prompt!

  • RSVP Frustration all of my own doing today!!!

Spent my lunch time printing off all my RSVPs as once they are done, the invites are ready to go out!! Made a COMPLETE b00b up of the job though - RSVPs are going to my Parents house (which I moved out of 3yrs ago...)

I put THEIR address and MY postcode on the RSVP envelopes :'( I now have to buy ALL new envelops and print them AGAIN (hopefully this time with the right ruddy details) I could kick myself :(

I was trying to get too much done at one time and pushed for time. I should have done this - set it all up ready and come back to it another day! Hindsight!

As it was, I put all the wrong ones in the bin and woke up at 4:30 this morning thinking 'I could have just put stickers over the wrong addresses with the correct one on!!' but ofc the bins have been emptied now :( Could kick myself even harder now lol
