Good morning all.
Defo a cold nip in the air today. Dinner tonight is chicken casserole already in the sc. Wm on and done and now drying.
Work this morning was interesting as for the first time in ages I was actually thanked for doing the jobs the teachers requested even though it was mine to do.
Dd must get her passport form done this week so we can send it off. We have never had a holiday abroad as a family and now we have a little spare cash we are booking a week away.
My dgd is teething at the mo and my dd1 is finding it hard work (lol shouldn't laugh but knew it was coming and it will do her good to see what I went through with her)
Might get the sewing machine out tonight after workand make a large bag that we can use on holiday as well as for the plane.
Anyhoo I'm rambling on and on so will wish hugs to all in need x

Hello all
It is a grey and cheerless morning here in Sussex. However, the birds sound very happy and busy - they must know that spring is around the corner now. I have a day off work which is nice but I can hear my husband's stash of Aldi chocolate calling to me from the pantry - must resist.February GC 173/200

well for the first day in ages I feel well. I seem to have been ill for so long. First a sore throat, then ear infection and generally felt unwell due to a high temperature that went with it.
Looks like getting stuck into the chores before I lose the will to live as there are many.

Ive got loads going round in my head. Such as, eldest son has come back on Facebook. His ex is on my friends list. I'm just waiting for world war 3 to kick off between them. Both of them are as bad as eachother and theres an 11 year old boy between them.
Youngest son. It seems like his idea of dating is for the girl to come to our house and they shut themselves in his bedroom. In my head I'm thinking, if they are going to have sex, I'd rather them do it somewhere else as I feel uncomfortable. Hubby is as paranoid as I am. We've never gone through this before with the other kids.
Please tell me I'm not the only one with a screwed up family!
Anyway, best get on before I take root (id rather take root if truth be told).
Have a good day all,
Glad you're feeling a bit better today.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Judi - your family is not screwed up - sounds like normal to me - well you know the stuff that's been happening in mine. Perfect family does not exist and if they did that very concept would in itself be dysfunctional xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Afternoon all,
Been to work first thing then back at luchtime for the other shift.
Cleaned through this morning but realised when I was just making my lunch that I'd forgotten to hoover the kitchen. Thought I couldn't have made that much mess making toast!
Chicken and Chorizo for dinner with possibly spicy cous cous.
Judi - Everyone's family is dysfunctional in some way. I'm the opposite to you I'd rather know they are safe doing it in my home rather than out in some park or other, but it depends on how old they are.0 -
Must admit, his Dad went into them twice (knocked first of course) and I took pizza in once.:D They were both dressed.
Ive just been sent a link to a video of the adoption of one of the abandoned babies my daughter and her partner fostered in South Africa As if I wasn't teary eyed before, I am now.
My daughter is wearing the red top.

Afternoon all
Water levels are rising, nightmare trying to get out of the end of my road this morning, cars parked everywhere, because people's drives are flooded. The buses aren't coming down the hill to our estate at all now & porta loos have been installed in the church car park as people have been told not to use their toilets & not to use WM's & DW's.
Took pics at work, I meant to say 'pics of shelves I can't reach' & all the other storage issues. Yes, the boxes are very heavy LW, lip service is paid & I am told not to lift but there is no other way to get to the paper.
Judi, that video was beautiful, I'm another one who'd rather my kids were in my house than somewhere else, but it's your home & you shouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable.
Have a good evening everyone.

Had a good day today we went to Hemel Hempstead for a few bits and they have a second hand book shop in the Marlowes, I got 2 Nigel Slater cookery books, 3 AWW books that I don't have and the pennywise cookbook which I think was published in 1973 all for £3.50.
DD got me some dvd's from cash convertors for 50p each. And I got a cool bag from punky fish that had been reduced to £5. Got all the birthday and Mothers day cards for the next three months as our card factory is so small it is difficult to get around on the little scooter or the wheelchair, and it is totally impossible with the big scooter
The best bit was that it stayed dry and sunny until we got home, back for 20 minutes and it lashed down.
Hester they really are taking the Pee, lifting heavy boxes is not on especially after you have been so poorly.
Dinner tonight is mince cobbler
Keep safe all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Good Evening chums I too think its absurd to expect you to lift nearly two stone.'elf 'n'safty etc.But then my DD is a school business manager and is expected to work through her lunch at her desk and never gets a break to eat properly and wonders why she is so tired all the time.it makes me hopping mad that employers seem to be able to get away with so much.
I just have been watching the dreadful plight of folk in the floods Its awful and I do feel for people who have seen their whole lives and homes ruined.no amount of insurance can replace a lot of things lost.
I live aound a mile from the River Medway, but at least on a bit of higher ground
This morning I had book club which I enjoyed then a pleasant corned beef salad lunch which I liked even moreas I had forgotten I had a tin in the cupboard. There is enough for another salad lunch tomorrow and some for my packed lunch on Wednesday as I am off to the Imperial War Museum to the research room to take some photo's for my nephew in Lancashire who is in the middle of writing a book about Royal Chaplains from 1900 and he wants some info on WW1 chaplains. The museum itself is shut until July for renovations but I managed to get a special appointment with one of the bods there so I'm quite looking forward to my day out.
Right I'm off to have a hot bowl of soup and some crackers as I swopped my lunch for dinner today.
Have a good evening everyone and try to stay warm and dry

Evening everybody
Not much OS today apart from the usual dishwasher, cleaning the kitchen malarky.
Tried a new recipe (still on my New Years Resolution of something new for the girls every week). It was one I cut out from a magazine. Philadelphia Macaroni Cheese and I made it from fuisilli as that's all I had. Girls refused it, even though they were playing some silly game with my brother before I cooked it eating all the sliced ham. He was dangling it in the air pretending he was mummy bird, honestly he winds them up sometimes!
Wasn't the cheapest recipe in the world as I had to go to the local shop and buy Phili which wasn't on offer and tins of sweetcorn (again not on offer) and then for them not to eat it. Ah well, will be my lunch tomorrow.
LONEWHITEWOLF – meany. I don't think I'd ever go back to the baby bits again. My youngest (3) didn't get her first tooth till 16months old, but boy, I certainly knew about them trying to come through!
JUDI – I agree with busiscoming2, although my kids are small, they are girls and I'd rather know where they were. My ex (girls' dad) moved in with me and my parents when I was 18 so I think they felt the same.
BUTTERFLY BRAIN – just wondered where you were from. I live quite near Hemel.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
