Yes I have noticed a lot of recent activity from the scammers as well.
I have also noticed a couple of listings by VICTIMS of the scam where they comment:
Ebay listing numbers 151230695669 and 1512332266490 -
At the moment it is tractors, expensive cameras and lens...sadly though some people will not know these are scams and will fall for them. Ebay should be issuing a warning on their pages but as usual they are keeping quiet.0

Maybe EBay don't like the public to know about their security vulnerability - they like to convey the impression of being safe.
Unfortunately there appear to be organized criminals taking advantage of the unwary:
