Cheap shops like Farmfoods and B&M have cheese slices, cheese triangles (like Dairylea) and Primula type cheese which are not kept in chillers.
I find this wrong. How come this cheese is kept outside chillers?

mmmmm because it is not really cheese and plastic does not need refrigerating?"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0

Very processed cheeses don't need to be refigerated, most shops will refigerate all cheeses because that's what people expect to see0

No good cheese should be refrigerated !
The best cheese is matured and kept at a cool natural temperature for best flavour !0 -
Cheese was made and kept centuries before refrigeration was invented0

Most of that stuff is 'refrigerate after opening'

We are not talking about the best cheese!
Anyway, according to the British cheese Board, and many other cheese maker web sites I have visited, cheese should be consumed at room temperature. In order to prevent loss of moisture, cheese should either be wrapped tightly in foil or stored in an airtight container. It is best to keep cheese in the bottom part of your fridge.
To bring out its full flavour, cheese should always be served at room temperature. You should try to remove cheese from the fridge at least two hours before serving and keep loosely wrapped.0 -
I don't disagree with the comments but in my Farmfoods all the cheeses are in the chiller, plastic variety or otherwise.0

I was watching something around Christmas time and they had a cheese maker on who was very clear that you needn't worry about refrigerating cheese as it has been around since long before refrigeration and that was part of the reason it was first produced as once made in to cheese the milk didn't turn/spoil and the product could still be happily consumed so I wouldn't worry about various cheese products not being fridged either.************************************
