Dart Tag
I have a Dart Tag that I rarely use nowadays but has £7.51 on it as a balance.
However I just got a statement that says DTE Tag Charge -7.51 leaving a balance of 0.00.
I didn't know there were any charges to have one of these tags.
Can anyone please explain this?
It sounds like daylight robbery.

Have you cancelled the account, as any credit on there automatically gets refunded to you. Maybe that is what has happened, especially if you haven't used it for ages.
If not, phone them on 01322 280200 and they will be able to tell you much more than we can

But does not say what happens if you do not make that 1 journey. Will my Tag expire?
There is no expiry date. Your credit will last for as long a period as you wish. This will vary depending on how much credit you have paid into your account, your class of tag, the number of tags on your account and the number of journeys you make. You must make at least one trip in any twelve month period for each Tag.0 -

No I have not cancelled the account - it would appear it is the dart people that have taken a charge - heavens knows what for.0 -
See http://www.dart-tag.co.uk/res/downloads/terms_and_conditions.pdf particularly clauses 8.2 to 8.4.
It looks like if they cancel the account, and you don't return the tag, then they keep your money. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
How did you end up with a balance ending with 51 pence?0

I have a Dart Tag and it hasn't been used for ages. I had it at a time when I was visiting a relative in that neck of the woods. I wonder if they have taken the money from it. I think it only had about £3 ish left on it.0

The Dart Tag originally gave a very small discount on the £1 crossing, so it cost you something like 93p. Add up enough of those and you'll end up with a balance like that.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
