Credit cards empty and not used - cancel or keep?

So between us we have 6 credit cards not in use having cleared them. Do we keep them or cancel the ones we don't need? We would like to do the best thing for our credit history.

Thanks! :o

2 cards each, and used every month, will help maintain a credit history.

If you've no preference, ie not bothered about follow on BT offers and none of them offer 'rewards', then keep the oldest.

if 6 cards means 3 each then no problem keeping them all; but use them regularly and pay in full

do any have any benefit (cashback, fee free foreign money, supermarket points etc)?
