Reclaiming halifax ultimate reward account charges

Anyone got any advice?
I sent my letter as had the ultimate reward account for 8 years never used it, I remember having a phone call with the bank who advised if I take it I can get a larger overdraft.
Halifax received my letter and called me to say as I had applied and was accepted online I was not entitled to a refund as I accepted the t&c's then.
They have not once checked if I am eligible for the add ons and I never realised I had to advise them regarding my mobile and health problems for the travel insurance.
Anyone got any info on how best to proceed as I think that they never checked that I was still eligible for the add ons they have still took me for a ride.
Thanks

If you applied online, you were not advised at the point of sale and so mis-bought rather than were mis-sold.Halifax received my letter and called me to say as I had applied and was accepted online I was not entitled to a refund as I accepted the t&c's then.
This is irrelevant to your complaint as you mis-bought.They have not once checked if I am eligible for the add ons and I never realised I had to advise them regarding my mobile and health problems for the travel insurance.
They didn't need to check, you should have done that yourself before applying online.Anyone got any info on how best to proceed as I think that they never checked that I was still eligible for the add ons they have still took me for a ride.
You can refer your complaint to the Ombudsman, but the referral will take around eighteen months and FOS will likely side with the Bank in these circumstances...0 -
