Currys PPI claim

Has anyone made a successful claim against Currys for PPI? Mine was through Lombard Tricity but I understand they are no longer around?

That is incorrect.

If the policy was sold by Currys then you complain to Dixons Retail Group.

Can I still claim if the account is closed and don't have the paperwork?

Send a SAR to Santander Cards to see if they have any records of the Currys/Lombard Tricity account and check your old bank statements for proof of payment. Gather as much evidence as possible before you submit your complaint.

You can't claim because that is what you do if an insured event occurs whilst the policy is in force.

If you believe you were missold the policy you can complain to the business that sold it to you.

Obviously if no policy was ever sold it cannot have been missold.

A Data Subject Access Request to the lender may, or may not, result in you finding evidence that a policy existed but that is not the same as saying it was missold.
