National Trust - Renewal or New Membership?

We currently have National Trust membership since last year, and is due to renew next month.. in fact we have already received our new cards, and notification of the date the DD will take the next years fee (£97).
It was my partner who applied for our family membership in her name, though obviously I am also named on the card.
Question is, if she cancels her DD so the current membership doesn't renew, can I then apply in my name for a new family membership, and benefit from the 3 month free (£72.75), and also be eligible to receive the free gift(s) which are currently different to the one we received last year?
Or will it count me as an existing member, as part of the current family membership?
Cheers

In the past week I've had 3 separate invitations to joint the National Trust. First by junk mail, then a direct mail shot and finally via my trades union magazine. Each time the price to join for a year was only about £45. So it looks like they are on a blitz at the moment with joining offers. Cancel without delay. Then check out your options and keep a look out on what lands on the mat. Don't know about the gift deals, I just clocked the price as each advert went into the recycling bin.0

Did a trial run last night on their website... basically filled in all details for a new family membership, in my name/address, and at no point did it flag up that I was already a member/part of a membership.
Therefore, my missus is gonna ring them so the existing membership doesn't renew (at £97), and I'll start a new one payable from my bank account as a 'new' member, and this get the 3 month reduction (£72.75)... should also get the new gifts too... a NT cool bag, and a kids gardening set. Last year it was a pair of mini binoculars.
We have no problem renewing our NT membership, as we've gotten good use out of it the last year... but obviously, if we can get it £25 cheaper, then its all good.0 -
dont forget topcashback too 5%0

Take out your new member just before you are going to use it, we do this and saves money and months. Just use the computer print off until card arrives, why take out membership if you aren't going to use it straight away. Why pay full price when you may get it YS0
