  • That's the thing Cattie, I understand what you mean and that's why I included the fact that I had stated I was not going to try and barter the price down in the original post. However the houses problems go deeper than was possible to know without a survey. Your pretty matter of fact in the way you say you would consider me "someone completely without honor". I would like to think I stick to my word but does that mean I should just shrug the additional problems off, crack on with the contract and then leave myself unable to afford paint/carpets/curtains etc. There are a list of additional problems that I have gone through and stated that i am prepared to swallow the cost of. But say the damp report comes back and the damage due to this dry rot will cost £3000 or £4000 should I just swallow that in the name of honor?? well even if I could afford to I wouldn't!

    Is it worth what you offered or not. Could be that with the work done, it's worth a good deal more ///
