decent tv 800 maxDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

TV all paid for now. What is the problem if i can afford it?? Anyway the real question was as an ex bankrupt which banks are more willing to give me a mortgage!

I don't understand any of it! I've obviously wandered into the wrong boards...
You can afford to spend £2k on a TV but are STILL entitled to a £98k discount on a house you want to buy??? How does that work? Where would I have to live to get that sort of help onto the housing ladder please?
I work full-time, my telly cost £400 from Asda but I had to pay full asking price for my house last year. What am I doing wrong??0 -

Well firstly you pay your debts........bankrupts don't.
If /when it goes wrong and the OP gets repo'd he may still be entitled to Social housing again.0 -
For 1700 i'd expect an imax screen, popcorn maker and a full time popcorn assistant for a year!0

You need to find out first whether you will be really entitled to RTB and what the discount would be.
The rule is that your years as a secure tenant are added- not sure whether being a resident caretaker counts.
Also re property prices you need to research recent sold prices, not neighbour's mortgages.
With your wife being a dependant and your history of bankruptcy and your joint debts I don't think your situation is straightforward and would also advise engaging a broker- but after you find out the answers to the questions above beforehand.
You mights have guessed the price of the property badly wrong and might not be able to afford it even with huge discount.0
