My cat goes mad at anything that smells like mint
If I leave a packet of polo's lying around, she rubs herself all over it, and plays with it, batting it around the front room and generally going insane!
Does anyone elses cat do this?

Not mine
they usually wrinkle their noses and flinch away from mint. Your cat is either bonkers, or it's not mint that you're eating....it's catnip :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: I fear she may be insaneI actually cannot leave a packet of polo's or a packet of chewing gum open in the house because she will hide them (after playing with them for ages!).

I had a cat that did this too if I left a box of mint chocolates out she would go mad sniffing them trying to get into the box! I would give her the empty box and she would spend ages licking the packaging :rotfl:0

Hehe that's cute!
Catnip is in the mint family, I understand.I have a simple philosophy:
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.

One of my old cats used to do this too, mint was more like catnip to her, although she was never interested in actual catnip. She would break into my handbag to steal chewing gum, she would try to get my face after brushing my teeth.
I had a short video clip of her ripping a box of mint matchmakers to pieces, chasing it all around the floor.
I haven't heard of another cat doing it before.0 -
My boy is exactly the same. But give him an actual polo and he'll ignore it instead playing with the packet.
He'll also try to lick the sink after I've brushed my teeth.0 -
I ran a plant stall at a street party we had for the Queen's Jubilee. Someone donated a tray of mint plants which I put behind the hedge until I'd sold other stuff and had room on the stall.
Unbeknown to me, my cat Eric found the mint plants, had a good roll around in them and left them completely flattened and not sellable !
He loves catnip too.0 -
Tibsey hates the smell of mint.
She will gladly let you kiss her as soon as you get up in the morning and have ' Morning Breath' or if you have just had a meal. But go near here with freshly brushed teeth and she walks off in disgust ! lol0
