This company owns another company called magical breaks limited, a travel agency . There is a mention of them in the London gazette last month , with the code D1 next to them. If you can establish what exactly that means it may be an indicator of something significant, or not. They seem to own several companies.

I googled "london gazette d1 code" and one of the results was a post on the Piston Heads forums which pointed to the above page.

It refers to the company's returns to the registrar.

I've been on holiday with them but in 2007 so not in the last 2 years.

I went on the Little Trains of Austria coach tour and stayed in a little village called Auffach in the Wildschonau mountain range. I had a wonderful time and met some really nice people, there was a range of ages not just old people, which was good as I went on my own due to friends not being available. It was one of them last minute decisions on a much needed break.

In our party there was 2 coaches (1 from the south and 1 from the north) and we were split across 2 hotels. The hotel I stayed in was a lovely traditional alpine chalet, the room was a single so smaller (as I choose the option not to share and paid a single supplement) but it was nicely decorated and clean with pine furniture and a balcony. The bathroom was pristine, with shower. We got a properly breakfast with eggs and bacon, not just the continental type. But then I think that was dependent on the hotel I stayed in as the other hotel was just continental breakfast.

Obviously coach travel from the UK to Europe takes about 3-4 days out of your holiday break, so you need to go on one of the longer ones, but you also need to treat the travelling days as part of your holiday.

We went on 2 train journeys (Ziller Valley Stream Engine and Gisela Express) through the Austria Alps, which was breaktaking. Trips included were Mayrhofen, Zell Am See and Lake Achensee. So a good number of trips for the money I paid, although I would have liked a bit more time in Zell Am See. I got an off day as well, which I decided to hike up the mountain at the resort. Ended up walking like John Wayne the next day. :D

If you had asked if I recommended them after I got back, I would have said yes. Not sure what they are like now.
