Can you apply to claim PPI if you have had a settlement?

I was with a debt management company to help with my debt with a number of companies. I asked them to get a settlement figure for me as my circumstances had changed and I was able to pay it off.
The debt management company have recently contacted me, approx 3 years after I paid the settlement figure, saying it looks like I might have paid for PPI with several of the companies they dealt with on my behalf. Usual percentages offered to investigate this obviously but my concern is that if I allow them to do it will the companies not turn around and say they want me to pay the remaining balance that they originally didn't include in the settlement figure?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Any redress (should it be awarded) would be off set against monies written off as part of your settlement.

In addition, if you use a claims company, you could very well receive absolutely nothing personally and still end up with a bill from the company. Avoid.0
