Engagement ring...possible refund?

has your gf seen the ring yet?surely the fact that you love her enough to buy her a ring at all is the important thing?

She hasn't seen it yet, and I'm sure she'll love it but I just want it to be perfect for her. Thanks for the advice form all who have replied so far!

I had a feeling that they don't have to offer a refund, so will try and plead maybe.

So my question is do people know that if I take back my ring within 28 days will I be able to get a full refund or do different jewellers have different policies?

If it was H Samuel, it's possible to get a refund, but it may be hard work.

I was fobbed off with a giftcard which I was told I could spend in other stores (not true), and it took 9 months of pestering customer services to get the cash.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

I have got my girlfriend a diamond enagement ring but I have since found out that she has had her eye on another one from another shop.
She has her eye on another what from another shop.

    Another man?
…Should have asked her sister first, I know…..
Do you think her sister might want to marry you.

Two jokes for the price of one. :D

An engagement ring is a very personal piece of jewellery which will be worn by your fiancee for hopefully a very long time so she has to love it. I would have hated for my fiance to have bought me a ring without me having some input into it as I know he would chosen something awful. I love my ring because it's what I wanted (with his approval of course) and he was happy to pay for it!!

As romantic as it is that you have chosen her ring, she should have some choice about the matter.

Noooooo give her the one you got- its more of a surprise and more personal and special when you haven't hand picked it yourself.
You chose it, she loves you and she'll love the ring YOU chose for her!

I also think you should give her the one you have bought. Tell her what has happened and if she doesnt like it that you are ok with her changing it but obviously you will have to do all this quickly :)

    Goodluck

i bet if you present her with the one you have bought and then say that you could always change it for the one she had her eye on she wouldn't let you!
Unless you've got her a christmas cracker ring n she has her eye on Tiffany bling!

My favourite top is one that my OH chose himself without me being there. I'd have never picked anything like it myself, but I love it.

ok, so it's a tshirt not a ring, but i'd say the fact that you've bought her a beautiful ring that YOU chose will make her love it even more than the one she'd picked out!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
