Ive never seen the question asked on comparison sites but a lot of them exclude write offs in the small print. Try admiral and LV :)

Make sure you don't cover yourself with Swiftcover or Axa then

I insured a CAT D car for 3 years without issue, none of the forms I was asked to fill in asked if the car was a CAT D.

  • i owned a cat d car , it was written off, the insurance company paid me out in 6 weeks, they told me it had been previously damaged over the phone.so i presume it was on record somewhere .

Did they reduce the amount they paid you due to it previously being written off?

they paid me a fair price ,was enough that i took the offer straight away without argument and it was a lot more than i paid for the car.
