must we have a combi ?

Thinking about having a new boiler fitted free on the government scheme as we are on Pension Credit and have a 38 year old boiler and central heating system.
The question is has it got to be a combi boiler as we are worried our old radiators/valves would not cope with the pressure from a combi boiler and wondered if anyone has had a normal boiler fitted under this scheme.
We are thinking of using Northern Gas, Has anyone used this company ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

No reason to have a combi unless you really want one. They are only fit for flats anyway.
There are combi, system and open vent (conventional) boilers to choose from. All have to be condensing though.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
