Hi, I'm sure there have been plenty of threads about match.com but I wanted to ask some advice and potentially provide a warning to stay away from the site.
I joined match.com after a few recommendations from different people who said they met their partner there. I paid for the 3 month membership and started to search for people in my area. As it turns out there are hardly any people in my area and most of them seem to not even use the site anymore as when you go into their profile it says when they last logged in and most are over 3 months ago. Needless to say I feel this is a huge waste of my money (its not like I live in the middle of nowhere) and rather misleading. So I scoured the site from top to bottom as well as various other online searches trying to see if I could cancel my membership since I had only been signed up for less than an hour and already felt scammed. Even the free dating sites have many many more people based in my area so why not the apparently biggest, most successful dating site?
Even though the payment had not even been taken from my account it seems that not only is there no refund policy or option to cancel. I hoped to stop the payment at the source and checked my bank account several times to try cancel the scheduled payment but for whatever reason it did not appear as a scheduled payment it just went though.
There also seems to be NO way to contact match.com at all, no email, no phone number, no contact form or address, so basically if you have something to say about or to match you can't which means if you sign up and something goes wrong there is nothing you can do about it, they have your money and that is that. Seems a bit suspicious to me (and many others looking at various reviews).
So why can nothing be done about this? Does anyone know how to contact them? How to make a complaint? I am also very worried because although I made sure to turn off the automatic renewal it seems as though this often does not work and people get charged again yet once more there is nothing that can be done if this happens.
So any advice?

Yeah, advice is to look at the website again as I found their contact details within 30 seconds and also on the same page how to cancel the subs0

You can't join a site and guarantee at a given time there will be anyone near you. Maybe people on there don't put their real location? Perhaps wait a while, see if others approach you( I'm no expert on this btw!)0

Full of married people looking to have affairs, I'd stay away!0

Funny:rotfl: how this site has no e-mail address to respond to suppose to many complaints :T0 -
Also full of underagers buyers be aware no one is vetted on this site like so many other dating and hook up sites they take your money and run after that they don't care..if you sign up to an on-line casino you have to prove your age so why can't these sites be made to do the same they don't realise the down side as they ruin so many young lives 21yr old meets 18yr old who is actually perhaps 14 but say there 18yrs old and look older do these sites take no responsability meanwhile the 21yr old has a name tag around there neck for life it happens more than we realise disgusting if you ask me but no one does anything about it????0

Bumping several old posts (mainly in Consumer Rights) to say exactly the same thing each time is spamming and is a breach of forum rules. (It doesn't matter if you feel aggrieved - it doesn't give you the right to spam the forum. You've been a member here long enough to know better).0
