I haven't been paid my ESA is this because of pip application

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help . I have been on ESA for three years due to my illness and have never failed a medical . Two days ago my care coordinator mentioned to me that I can claim pip and I called and made the application . So this Friday at midnight I was expecting a payment which I get without fail for the last three years . I just read on another forum that your ESA will not be paid when you make an application for pip is this true . I'm also waiting for a medical after filling out a ea50 2 months ago I wondering if it's possible they might have stopped payment because I failed the questionnaire I haven't received the letter to say so only one this week telling me I going to get a slight increase in payment from April . Can anybody help as to why my ESA hasn't been paid thank you

Ah there lies the possible answer. You have probably had your ESA claim closed down for failure/refused to submit to a face to face assessment.

But the OP said he's waiting for the assessment, not that he failed to attend one.

But who's not to say that the DWP/ATOS did in fact send out a letter requiring the OP to attend an assessment, but that the OP's dog chewed it up, or the OP threw it away or maybe it was never delivered?

Only ATOS/DWP can confirm the position, but my betting is on ATOS saying it was sent out, the OP never received it, the OP failed to attend the assessment, ATOS sent the file back to the DWP and they closed the claim down through failure to attend.

Unfortunately the law is on the side of ATOS/DWP. If they confirm it was posted it would deem to have been delivered. Arguing that you never received it would not wash - already had that argument with the DWP over missing letters in the past and lost the argument!

what are you talking about? he hasn't got his money and has not mentioned anything about a letter, you come on here everyday spouting rubbish, because you know nothing, before you reply, do some research, it take longer than 2 months for an assessment it is now averaging 5 months!!!!

Probably a late payment caused by the system updating with the April rates
Hence why you received the uprating letter this week also

It has nothing to do with any PIP application as they are separate benefits, and as they often query a no-show at a medical (and they are taking longer than 2 months anyway) it's unlikely to be that.

Give them a ring and ask.
