hi all

ordered a new bed boxing day.. phone call week before last sorry sir your bed been delayed..

this tuesday phone call your bed is in stock when would you like your bed: me soon as possible : furniture village we can delivery friday: me
great phone the store make full payment

now part of the furniture village service is to put together the new bed


so this morning i had the old bed removed from my house & taken to the dump..

now at 2pm no bed so i start to chase up the delivery.. not only do furniture village not have my bed in stock its not even been made yet & it is over 2 weeks away so I've got to now sleep on the sofa..

i'm going to see the store manager tomorrow what are my rights over this.

    Your bed circumstances are of your own making, FV cannot be held responsible for you disposing of your old bed.

    If they have failed to stick to commitment, you can apply for a full refund of the item you have bought.

    em since furniture village sales patter includes a talk about on the day of delivery the room must be clear for their staff to install the new bed.. its not really of my making is it....

    Well you could have put it somewhere else before disposing of it. It is not a case of money saving trolls but common sense by members whereby the OP lacks the same

    I did the same with sofas and IKEA. I was told I would get a confirmed delivery date week before the delivery. I got the confirmed date, sold my sofas (as I had no room for 2 sofas in my apartment) and then delivery got put back 2 weeks.

    I kicked up a fuss with IKEA, as they had confirmed the delivery, then changed their mind. They gave me a partial refund and store vouchers for the inconvenience. I'm sure this was mostly goodwill, but it is unreasonable for FV to expect the OP to house two beds for a period of time. Who has space for that?!
