Does the CC Fraud team, VS CC Dispute team, both refund money in the same way ?

Options
If an unrecognised transaction has appeared on a credit card, and the money has to be sent back to the card from the company, from the credit card team.

then if it is done though the fraud department...or alternatively trough the cc dispute department, then are both ways the same way and procedure and speed?

or one way is quicker, -ie the fraud department will resolve the issue quicker, eg?

You just report the unrecognised transaction to the CC company. You have no control over what department deals with your enquiry and how this department is called. It's their business, not yours.

even if the company refused to pay the funds back to the card, will the credit card company still pay you your credit upfront ?

from the cc companies own funds?

so they would have made a loss, but is it something they do? or only if the company agrees and pays the money back to the card ?

in other words, is there more weight on 'our side' regardless how the company behaves? whether they agree or disagree

Fraud is where someone has taken money from your card without your authorisation.
A dispute is where there is a problem - like a faulty car.

The CC company are joint liable in certain circumstances. That's the law. It's known as "section 75".
Yes they have to pay it from their own funds sometimes.

The CC company will take a view on your case and how the company have behaved.
They will ask what you've tried to do to get the money back e.g. letters, emails - and ask for dates etc.
A refund is not automatic - for example a problem with a car might be determined to be a wear & tear issue and not a fault, or you might need an engineers report.

It might help if you actually told us what the issue was.
There's an enormous difference between someone stealing your card details and buying stuff without your permission and having a problem with a retailer over something you'vbe bought.

You'll get a lot more help if you explain the case.
