ESA groups

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick query regarding my ESA claim, I'm unsure as to which group I'm in. I've been claiming ESA for over a year and I've not been put into the WRAG or support group yet. Is anyone else in a similar situation?
I've been asked to attend 2 assessments last year, 1st one no Dr's were able to see me as they were backlogged, 2nd I missed my appointment due to illness, which ended up in a kerfuffle and speaking with a decisions maker.
I'm not sure if the decisions maker has marked my claim differently which has stopped them requesting me to assessments or what? I send them a sick note every 3 months and my claim has ticked over from contribution based to income based automatically.

Any help/possible explanations would be appreciated

Cheers

M

Are you receiving the assessment rate of ESA - £71.70 if a single claim?

You really need to telephone them and ask why you have not received an appointment to attend a medical assessment.

I know you have 'missed 2 appointments so it is likely that they're are just very busy. Better to check what is happening so that your 'case' is brought to their attention.

Thanks for your reply Lindyloo, I spoke to the ESA team today and they're chasing up ATOS to setup an appointment.
I'm being paid the assessment phase for couples, which I don't think changes even if you're put into a group?!
Anyway fingers crossed it gets sorted soon :)
    Thanks again! M

Personally I would keep under the radar and not call them if I was you - provided you have not missed any appointments. Contacting ATOS to ask them to see you is not the way I would go...

They are under no obligation to assess you within any deadline.
However - if you are in fact entitled to either the support or work-related element, you will on being allocated one or other of these groups be paid the backpay at 30 quid a week or so.
    So, say 15 months - 13 weeks = 12 months = 50 weeks = 1500 quid or so.
