Am I entitled to any Childcare Contributions?

Hello all. I am looking at putting my daughter into Nursery for 2 mornings a week at a cost of £36.50. Both my wife and I work full time and our combined Salaries are £40K.

Any help would be appreciated because the tax calculator says we are not but I thought if we earned under £42K per annum we were.

Thanks for the reply but on this website I have found the following:

To qualify for childcare tax credit you must:
Be a single parent working 16+ hours a week
Be in a couple both working 16+ hours a week

If that's you, and your total household income's under £41,000, you should DEFINITELY check your entitlement.

As per the table, on £40k income with 1 child, if your childcare costs were £175 per week you would get about £10 per week, if, as on the table, the costs were £90 per week then you would get nothing

Not strictly what you are asking, but worth asking your workplaces if they do the voucher schemes - if nothing else that will save you 30% on the cost of the nursery fees via tax relief.
