Npower prepay meter and bill query

Hi, I wondered if anyone could shed some light.

We have been paying a debt from previous property on current meter which was transfered by npower..

The debts on the meters do not match the current bill online..

Gas bill £71.25
Electric £513.56

Actual meter says
Gas £341.23
Electric £629

Why does the meter and the bill differ so much? Which is the true amount outstanding??

Thankyou in advance.. and i will call them, but cannot find much info online, i like to be equipped and ready for the row.
:o any help is much appreciated

It looks like the wrong message has been sent to the meter - or a message has been sent twice.
They may ask you for certain biuts of info when you call so if you have them ready it should speed things up.

    For each meter:
    • A current reading
    • The current available credit
    • The current outstanding balance.
    • How much you have topped up in the last few days (may not have reached their systems yet)
Using this they can run an accurate comparison between the meter and their systems and send a message to correct the meter if need be.
