statement dates and payments

Options
Hi, fairly new to credit cards, just need a quick question
Current statement 3/2/14, balance of 63, min payment of 5 due 20/2
I made a payment of 63 today. If I spend money now, will I still have to pay the min payment? My next statement is 3/3/14.
Thank you

No, your spend now will go on the next statement.

If you clear the balance before the payment date then there no interst, however this is only if it is in full, if you pay a penny less they will charge interst on teh whole amount.

The other thing is to make sure you make payment after your statement date, some people pay things off almost immediately after they put it in the credit card, in which case it doesn't show on the statement and doesn't show that you're using the card sensibly.

Well done for posting all pertinent information! Some don't....

You only have to pay for the items on your statement, which in this case is £63. Done. The statement of 3 February is paid.

Everything you've bought after that statement was produced will go onto your next statement, 3 March as you say, and will have to be paid before the date on that statement.
  • Brilliant, thank you :D

Do you have a direct debit set up for the minimum payment?
