What kind of rubbish fraudster uses stolen details to do a £1.89 download?! Surely thats not even worth the gamble (or maybe is, considering that the police aren't involved in card fraud anymore...)
I don't mean to offend by the way or make light of your situation at all. I'm just gobsmacked that someone would steal details for such a small reward!!
I hope for both of you its gets sorted out ASAP and doesn't happen again. It must be such a pain and a worry.

Usually they do a 'test purchase' for a small amount, before they hit u hard - that's what happened with my cc anyways

My card was cloned a few weeks back. I only found out because my bank (Nationwide) spotted an unsual transaction on the account and investigated it before passing it. They phoned me to ask if i had paid an American internet company £1.99. When i said no, he said that my card had been cloned and that they would cancel it.
The reason for the small transaction is to find out if the card is live or if they've been caught...testing the water if you like. If it goes through then the big transactions start and that's when you get the real hassle.
So it's not really a gamble of getting caught for £1.89 of downloadable music - it's probably a tester to see if it works then they'd go buy an LCD TV or a 3 piece suite on the card.
EDIT:
Should have said - no way of finding out where my details were taken from without lengthy investigation. I use my card for petrol in numerous filling stations and use it for many other purchases so very difficult to nail down where it was scammed.

 iI am fuming and confused I am just off the phone to my bank and realised while online previous to the call that £100 had been took from my account by "itunes", "London", ??? don't know them never download music, I never download anything. I called the bank now my card is cancelled and now the case is being dealt with by retail fraud. Strang goings ons on my mobile vodaphone recently with texts from some scam squad that I checked out on this site at the start of the week coming from a 82856 tex number seemingly they want you to text back so they can steal what credit you have in our mobile by charging premium for the call. Anyway no one knows any of my bank details and the customer service guy said it could be a company that I have bought from online copying my sort and account number to do this as my pin number was not used. Also I am wondering whether maybe someone has looked at my bank statements which have my account and sort code on while being in my house? I don't know this is freaking me out.
Hey your lucky to have only a hundred just at the beginning of the week i looked at my balance and could not believe my eyes when i saw 25 transactions all at £100 all to iTunes £2,500 i have never used the site in my life now i am having a right whale of a time with my bank trying to arrange an over draft just so that i can buy food to eat.0 -

I saw an 11p transaction - i think its more of a test0 -
Oh that's terrible I can't understand this itune thing hopefully we both get the answers we need also I feel sorry for you as I am sure you have to wait as I do to get the money refunded back to you from the bank, I think the bank should have dealt with that part better as my other transactions got messed because of this and the bank also had a cheek to send me out a £39 charge which they decided to wave after I phoned them about and reminded them it was not my fault the money wasn't there, it's under investigation. Anyway hope you are ok and it is sorted soon.Hey your lucky to have only a hundred just at the beginning of the week i looked at my balance and could not believe my eyes when i saw 25 transactions all at £100 all to iTunes £2,500 i have never used the site in my life now i am having a right whale of a time with my bank trying to arrange an over draft just so that i can buy food to eat.0
