Hello guys basically i've never saved via bank account and only ever had a bank account that i didn't earn interest on. I don't know where to start really the info on here is mind boggling.
I just want to make the most out of my money year to year (as we all do I suppose!)
Just wondered if anyone could advise me on first steps.
Thanks

You need to consider things like what you want the money for, i.e. short term (<5 years) for, say, house deposit, or long term accumulation - if the former then depositing in cash savings is likely to be sensible, but if the latter then investing gives a chance of better returns in the long run. However, your attitude to risk is also important here.
Also, starting or bolstering a pension may make sense, or investing in property. As you'll have seen already, there are many options, but only you can decide what's right for you, although people on here may be able to offer more specific advice with more info on your circumstances, plans, etc....0
