Just wondering if maybe whoever was doing the renovation work damaged it?...this is maybe something the shop will be also thinking?0

Ps, S75 won't work because the retailer will dispute your version so you are back to square 1.
With a section 75 claim, it doesn't matter what the retailer says as this type of claim is between the purchaser and credit supplier. In fact, you don't even have to attempt to resolve the problem with the retailer before attempting to get a S75 resolution.
If all it took for a S75 claim to fail was a retailer disputing the facts, no one would ever get a successful resolution from this type of claim.
Saying that, I do agree that 2 months is too long of a time to have passed before attempting to claim for goods damaged on delivery.0 -
If it was wrapped in just clear plastic how didn't you see the damage even without opening it? Surely clear plastic is transparent, although may look slightly distorted if it's very thick.0

Perhaps opaque is closer than transparent. What I was trying to get across was that there was no protection, perhaps sheer would be a better choice of word.
No wonder the driver said 8/10 of these go back.0 -
