Can anyone confirm whether or not Critical Illness insurance is a form of PPI?
I am pursuing a complaint against Yorkshire Bank. I took out a loan and at the same time was advised to take out critical illness insurance, which I did.
The bank have recently contacted me and informed me I do not have a case to pursue a PPI claim.

PPI is "payment protection insurance" and is issued by general insurance companies. Critical illness cover is "critical illness cover" and is issued by life assurance companies. Totally different products. The bank have recently contacted me and informed me I do not have a case to pursue a PPI claim.
They are correct. CIC is as much PPi as your house insurance is.I took out a loan and at the same time was advised to take out critical illness insurance, which I did.
one of the criteria for suitability on CIC is covering debts. So, seems to be the justification that is needed.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
