PPI enquiry advice needed

Hello all,
I have had a phone call from a company called claims professionals regarding the claiming of PPI and similar products. I have claimed previously from a loan with the Halifax which with the help of the templates on this forum was relatively straight forward.
This on the other hand I believe is very different. Before I knew I had paid PPI without doubt and relatively sure of the amount paid. The gentleman on the telephone earlier today mentioned Littlewoods and Very in particular as well as others charging PPI and not saying and sometimes not showing this on statements.
If this is correct and they do it 'in secret' which I find hard to believe how would you go about finding out whether or not they are or even have been charging PPI. The reason I ask is we have had catalogues for some time and we used to buy a lot out of them and make all required payments and continue to do so.
Hope some one can help, I presume this was just a sales pitch and he would have told me anything but feel I would be a fool not to follow it up. At a commission of 39% I would much rather do it myself although I dnt think there is anything to be had.
Thank you

Thats an oxymoron. The gentleman on the telephone earlier today mentioned Littlewoods and Very in particular as well as others charging PPI and not saying and sometimes not showing this on statements.
Think logically for a moment. If it didnt appear on the statement, then how would your balance increase?I presume this was just a sales pitch
Yes, you have unprofessional, unqualified people being paid commissions to get people signed up. Somewhat ironic given that they make the same allegations to the banks.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
On that basis do you think it is likely as nothing is shown on the statements I will not be paying, I'm not to bothered either way if I haven't paid I won't be claiming. The reason I ask is I wouldn't have ask for it as my employment benefits are satisfactory and if my wife is being charged she should be as she was unemployed when she applied for the catalogues.
There is a note in the statement which says how the minimum repayment figure is made up and it does start with "1. Any payment protection on the account" I understand this is a general term but there is no breakdown on statements only a minimum payment figure.0 -
