Thomson holiday using Norwegian for flight

Booked a holiday online, for our extended family to Ibiza this August through Thomson. I noticed on the "choose flights" section that it said Norwegian but once through to the "paynow" section, it showed Thomson Airways.

However, once the final details came up as confirmation of booking, the outbound flight is by Thomson, but the return is with Norwegian.

I wasn't overly concerned but it occurred to me to check which terminals each operator uses (at Gatwich) and Thomson is the North but Norwegian is the South!

Still not a big deal but would have been nice to be informed.

You will see quite a difference in the flights, everyone raves about Norwegian's quality and time keeping on the Gatwick routes but in flight prices may be higher as Norway is Europe's most expensive country!
  • Be very careful about Thomson holidays with Norwegian flights. We booked our holiday to Portugal as a package with Thomson. The booking confirmation stated the flights were with Norwegian. You cannot check in though the Norwegian website though or select seats. You have to check in at the Thomson counters. Our return flight was delayed by over 12 hours. Thomson refused to help on the basis the flight was with Norwegian. Norwegian customer service was no where to be seen. We have written two letters to Thomson. Both have been met with the response that, if something goes wrong with a Norwegian flight, it's nowegians problem even if you have booked the holiday through Thomson. this is not made clear when you book the holiday on thomsons website (at least not when we booked) so thought this was worth highlighting to all

Prices onboard a flight from the UK to Spain have nothing whatsoever to do with prices in Norway.

I don't buy anything on board but I don't recall Norwegian being any more expensive than anyone else. Definitely more comfortable though - the free wifi, while obviously rubbish, is handy too.
