Life Cover & kidney problem

We are looking to take out a joint life policy to cover our mortgage.
I have not had any problems getting cover, but due to a kidney infection in 2012 we can not get cover for my wife.
Can anyone recomend an insurance company that may be able to help?
We have tried Aviva and L&G so far...
Thanks

You may be better talking to an IFA who will know which insurers to approach to get an onion before making an application and if that doesn't work, the impaired life specialists who may be an option.I am a mortgage broker. Nobody would be able to recommend a company outright as it would be dependent on too many variables. Presumably for the cover to have been declined there must have been some long term effect on your wife's kidney function?
There are specialist providers on the market who can underwrite cases which the mainstream providers avoid, however, you'd probably want to ensure the mainstream options are exhausted before going down that route as the premiums tend to be significantly higher.
I'd suggest you need the assistance of an IFA with plenty of protection experience or a whole of market protection specialist.0
