Hi again all, having spent a little more time last night reading the stickys and other threads am I right in thinking this: If I keep ignoring the letters the only consequence that will probably happen is I will continue to recieve threatening letters? The company involved don't have the power to issue CCJ and are highly unlikely to send bailiffs around? The company involved has not summoned anyone to court, but they could file a small claims appeal within the next 6 years which is quite beatable?

Just weighing up the pros and cons of ignoring vs writing a "robustly responding" letter.

    cheers again

Yep that is all correct and - without winning in court first - a firm CANNOT 'send bailiffs round'! And they cannot 'summons' you (that's a criminal court, different thing!):

HTH, the above thread is an oldie but a goodie to put your mind at rest. I would ignore CPP and ICC if it were me but keep all the letters fro years in a file just in case.

Sweet as a nut. I really appreciate everybody's help. I have emailed my student union just making them aware of the harrassment that this company is capable of and just generally whinging on about how it's a disgrace they allow such a cowboy company to run thier carparks. Hopefully get something done about it as I know there are loads of people who would easily be bullied into paying the charges.

Other than that I think I am just going to continue to ignore any further letters from both ICC and CPP. If I do happen to get a summon to court then I will let you guys know!

    Many thanks once again!
