Building a web site

I use moonfruit whilst the process was reasonably simple for me, i have never done anything like this before, it was time consuming and now 3 years on its been good for us but and its a big but.......
The site is viewed completely differently on iPads and I phones to a windows computer as they use flash that mobile devices don't.

I am not really happy about this and now looking to have a new site built from scratch.

My husband does web design, I know through conversation cheap website builders aren't great. They will not work quite correctly on smart phones and tablets which is how many people view now and sometimes doing yourself can look a bit amateurish, and may not rank on google.

However, he swears by WordPress and only builds websites on this which are very easy for people to maintain after.

I am a web designer by accident, as in a few people like my website and asked me to build them one, I am by no means an expert but I also stand by this with wordpress.

The customisation possabilities are endless but basic mainenance and updates are simple.

As above it will work on mobile devices out of the box, I have found with a few plugins etc there has been some tweaks or swaps needed but my sites all work on mobiles/tablets perfectly.
