    It's up to you to:
    a. Get receipts from the landlady
    b. Take her to court and prove that she was unreasonable in the charges.

BTW you admited it was hard to change the lights in the kitchen as they were built in to the cupboards which explains:
    1. The cost of the lights - non-standard so more expensive
    2. The labour cost - build in lights so costs more to change

Labour costs may include a call out fee, sourcing the light bulbs as well as the time taken to do the repair. Plus VAT.

Just be careful what you write on your court claim form - http://england.shelter.org.uk/advice/advice-4098.cfm
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

I guess you think that the landlady shouldn't know how to turn on an oven either, so you'd call an engineer out for that? In my mind the landlady is meant to know about the property, but not necessarily the tennant. Anyway, I think court is the route to proceed down and I will keep you all updated.
