Permitted work help

I've been doing permitted work of 12 hours per week since last January whilst in the support group of ESA, They sent for my payslips which I sent a few weeks ago and today I have received a letter telling me that I either stop working, reduce my work to less than £20 per week or do "supported" permitted work which is under supervision etc which my current job isn't.
I just need to make sure that this is right as I was told that if in the support group you can do permitted work indefinitely? or is that just for the "supported" permitted work.
The annoying thing is I'd be better of leaving my job and carrying on with the benefit but that's not what I'm going to do as I do enjoy my job. Just need some clarification from someone who might have more knowledge than me as the whole thing has confused me.

You are correct.

See 41212
'Claimants who [are in the support group] can work for an indefinite period if they work for under 16 hours a week, or an average of 16 hours, and earn no more than 16*NMW per week'.
Contact them, and make very sure you are in fact in the support group.0 -
Thanks for clearing that up, I've phoned this afternoon and it would seem i need to reapply to do the permitted work for another 12 months but that will also mean that I will be reviewed again which kind of seems fair enough.0

I would encourage you to make a complaint against the letter you were sent stating you'd need to reduce your hours.
If nobody complains, nothing is wrong.
If someone believed it - they are quite likely to give up what little work they are able to do.0 -
Dear mpr87, what a great attitude you have, and congrats on enjoying your work - no mean feat for anyone these days. Best of luck for the future.

ps. sorry, I've just read this back and it seems a bit patronising but it is sincerely meant.0 -

Thank you, I actually half expected some abuse for being able to do some work whilst in the support group but there's time yet, Either way since I started doing the 12 hours a week the difference it has made to my well being has been massive.
The form did have 4 options although I've returned the form now so can't remember exactly but I had to tick one and return it
The first one basically said tick to continue working but earning no more than £20 a week, 2nd said continue working and lose benefit, 3rd said continue working under "supported" permitted work which means I'd need to be supervised etc and the 4th option which is where I ticked no was something along the lines of do you wish to end your permitted work, So i'll just have to wait and see what happens now. I'm guessing i'll get hauled in for an examination by atos in the near future now.0 -
I had an interview on friday for a job and have just been informed that I've got it, so i'll be ringing the DWP or whoever I need to ring in the morning to cancel my ESA, Don't think i've ever been happier.0

CongratulationsDear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -
