"E10 is available in Germany for years now...
... and none of my cars (Fiat 500C, Porsche Cayman 987, Audi A4) showed any increase in consumption. We had the same rumors over here prior to the introduction of E10 and I do not know a single person reporting it being less efficient than E5."0 -
All those cars are modern and have probably been designed to cope with E10. The issue will be with older vehicles, in particular the rubber seals. Ethanol does attack older rubber seals and will cause them to fail and leak fuel.
Research has been done and MAG are fighting this every step of the way.

So nothing to do with fuel consumption.0

It's a pain in the backside if you over-winter or store vehicles as it absorbs water. You either have to drain the tank or use a stabiliser.
Whether 10% and a UK winter is cause for concern, I'm not sure but I now drain my bike tanks before I put them to bed for the winter.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0
