Have you tried using the Samsung software for PC (KIES)?

You can backup all your phone data to PC using the KIES software.

Kies doesn't work with the Note 3, Saumsung is pretty rubbish updating software.
There's plenty of apps in the store that will back up SMS.
Download a free app, back up your sms, send the file to Dropbox or Google Drive.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
I found Kies to be an awful, unreliable piece of !!!!.
I use SMS To Evernote if I need to keep a text conversation, you have to be careful with the settings or it takes over your text system.0 -
Sorry my phone is a Samsung note 2 not 3.
Don't know if it makes any difference.

Kies rarely works on any Samsung device. Its awful.
Sometimes thety get it wrong and an update actually works. But then it forces another update that breaks it so all back to normal.
Samsung still have issues with their phones not having a hardware ID when connected to a PC. Why is it only Samsung phones that have this problem?
I have a cheap Chinese tablet and that connects fine. Everything else i plug in gets detected.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
