I know you'll all say, well what did you expect!
But I've had the land line trouble free & the mobile deal was too tempting, £7.50 pm, iPhone sim only, 1000 mins, 3000 texts, 4gb of data. To me that's virtually unlimited.
First thing I was annoyed about, I could not have my dd set up to collect on the 1st of the month, with my phone & bb from talk talk (Because they do let you choose for phone & bb), but I let it go.
Anyway, when I was setting it up I noticed you could have a call limit, now as I assume my £7.50 package will be all I use, I asked them to make my limit £1 - that's the lowest.
Yesterday I couldn't send texts, so I rang them.
I found out I had gone over my limit & owed them £2.20 for calls - it calculates at midnight, so they can't stop it exact on £1.
Ok says I, but I'm still well within my texts & mins, why do you cut those off, I've paid for those in advance? It's just how it works they said!!!
I can only assume I made a call to a chargeable number, because I checked my usage online after & I'd used 300 texts & 250 mins & virtually no data.
So he says, you need to pay £10.
£7.50 for your next bill & £2.50 to cover your call charges.
I said, my next bill isn't even due yet!
That's just how it works says he.
So I paid them the £10, otherwise I couldn't have had my call package back.
But what sort of crazy system is that. To cut off what I've paid in advance for, hardly seems fair. They also made me pay a bill a couple of days before the dd was even due & they told me it's so close to the dd the dd might get taken again, but don't worry, it can go towards my march bill!!!
I'm glad I have the safety net with chargeable calls, but can they cut me off a package I've paid in advance for?

And to add insult to injury, they said it would take up tp 24 hours before I could dial out or use my texts!!!
Its been about 18 hours now & I'm still not connected, to a service I have paid IN FULL, IN ADVANCE FOR & I've paid next months in advance too!!!!!!
I've got to leave when I can, this is a crazy system!!!
Where is the talk talk rep on here? Perhaps they can explain this?????

Don't think there's been a talktalk rep on here for years now.
They would probably got so much abuse that they never came back.
From some older posts - I think that it was recommended that you post things on their own forum. By all accounts, there was better service via their forum than over the phone.

My own experience from years ago with a landline was that they were abysmal then - and it doesn't appear to have changed. Wouldn't touch them with someone elses bargepole!

Been trying to get a membership id to post on their forums all day, the verification email never arrives!
I'm still not connected, I rang this evening after 25 hours & they said the first 24 was just to confirm the payment I made my debit card yesterday was now credited to my account! They confirmed it was & said its usually another 24 to get the actual service back, but they would rush it through & request it be done in 6 hours.
I've paid in advance for this package & next months package, I have oddles of mins, texts & gb left & I can't use it.
Surely they are not keeping up their end of the contract?
Its a sim only deal, all I'm paying for are calls, texts & data and they've turned them off.
They just wont understand that to turn off a service I've paid for in advance is just not on. They say its my fault for setting it to £1. But thats for extras, I should still get what I've paid in advance for, thats how the cap on tesco mobile works.
Guess where I'm off to as soon as possible!
I'm thinking they have broken the contract here though, they are failing to supply me with what I've paid in advance for - deliberately.
