Ppi claim

hi myself and my husband received a letter from our bank asking if we wanted to cancel our PPI otherwise the payments may increase, we were unaware we were paying PPI so got in touch with the bank who asked how long the account had been open to which we replied 1992. The lady asked if we wanted to make a claim and she completed the claim form over the phone. This was around a week ago. We have just seen we have received a refund payment of £580 plus interest straight into our account without receiving any correspondence asking if we accept the offer.
Does anyone know if this is standard procedure or should they contact us first with an offer, or should we ask for more?
Help please would be appreciated
