    No. The onus is on the person doing the complaining to provide a complaint reason that stands up to scrutiny.

    The onus is not on the banks at all.

    If you complain, the onus is on you to show it's a valid complaint reason, otherwise I could say, you owe me fifty quid, and you say no, I don't, and then I say, yes you do, so pay me because you have to prove you don't owe me that.

    When I read the replies putting you off complaining on this site, it crossed my mind that these entries were being made by the banks to put people off. I've never read such rubbish.

    The OP did as I advised THREE YEARS AGO and complained about the single premium aspect of the PPI.

    If he had simply complained about an alleged telephone call in which he was apparently told the PPI was compulsory then that would have been an easy rejection for the Bank.
