boiler problems - please help

I hope someone can advise me on what to do.
I was a customer with SSE for years on their homecare team. 3 years ago, my kitchen flooded and my boiler started leaking green fluid. SSE came out, ordered a new part, and fixed it...or so I thought!. In August I had an inspection from SSE and apparently my boiler was fine. I then switched to Npower in September....they unfortunately took ages to do the initial inspection...that happened today. The engineer told me that I had a leak in my boiler that had been there "a long time..probably years" and showed me a lot of green gunk that has built up. Npower have now called and said that my boiler did not pass inspection so they will not be covering me and refunding the 5 months I have already paid.
Now I am unsure what to do - do I go back to SSE and try and prove my case, do I try another boiler care company or do I just go and get it fixed out of my own pocket?!?!

You should be able to argue that by failing to do a first visit inspection within a reasonable time (28 days usually) that your cover is deemed running. Trouble s npower are pretty well known for wriggling out of repairs on boilers that ARE under cover so I wouldn't hold your breath to be honest. SSE don't have any reason to offer goodwill. BG will offer a fixed price repair and contract which may be your best bet if you can get your premium to a reasonable price....it won't be as cheap as the other two.0
