Dro
I have applied for a DRO today and I am really worried about the water debt. My partner pays the rent and other bills and I pay the water and electric and gas and we split the shopping. He hasn't been living with me for all of the debt and was wondering if any one had any experience as to whether they would pursue him for the debt. It got to stage of a high court sherriff attending the property and after losing my job the CAB advised a DRO. Please help as his is not aware if the debts I have

Hello there,
Your water arrears should be included within the DRO. Do you know if they were?

Yeah they have been included but I was not sure if they can chase him for the debt as he lives at the property0

Not unless he is named on the bill - is he?0
-
No it's just my name on all the water bills0

Then they don't even know he exists
He will not be chased for this.

I also want to include utilities in my Dro but some are in my name some in my husbands name.
If I put them all in my name now before applying for a Dro, will someone actually look and see they used to be in my husbands name just before the DRO?
I thought utility bills and council tax would be considered half responsible for two of you in a couple?0
